The icon first became famous for its miracles in Moscow in 1648 when it healed the sister of Patriarch Joachim of a grievous wound. A particularly famous version of the icon, known as the Theotokos Joy of All Who Sorrow with Coins, is venerated in Saint Petersburg. Her feast day is celebrated in November.
