Saint Nektarios of Aegina Coffee Mug

Saint Nektarios of Aegina is one of the most beloved and wonder-working saints of the modern Orthodox Church, venerated throughout the entire Orthodox world for his holiness, humility and the extraordinary miracles that pour forth from his relics to this day. Born in 1846 in Silyvria, Thrace, he rose to become Metropolitan of Pentapolis before being falsely accused by jealous clergy and removed from his position. He bore this great injustice with complete humility and forgiveness, never seeking vindication. He served the rest of his life as director of a theological school in Athens and as spiritual father to a community of nuns on the island of Aegina, where he reposed in 1920. He was glorified as a saint in 1961 and his relics continue to work countless miracles of healing. His feast day is celebrated in November.
