Saint Columba of Iona Black Coffee Mug

Sale price£25.00

Saint Columba was born into an Irish noble family in 521 AD and became one of the greatest missionary monks of the Celtic Christian world. He founded numerous monasteries in Ireland before sailing with twelve companions to the island of Iona off the west coast of Scotland in 563 AD, where he established the monastery that would become one of the most important centres of Christian mission and learning in the history of the British Isles.

"Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above, and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever." (Daniel 12:3)

O holy father Columba, apostle of Scotland and lover of Christ, who carried the light of the Gospel to distant shores with courage and joy, intercede before the Lord for all who dwell in these islands and for all who seek thee. Amen.

This mug makes a deeply meaningful gift for name days, baptisms and as a gift honouring the Celtic Orthodox tradition of Scotland and Ireland.
