Saint Bartholomew the Apostle Orthodox Christian Coffee Mug

The Holy Apostle Bartholomew, also known as Nathanael in the Gospel of John, is one of the twelve apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. When his friend Philip told him they had found the Messiah from Nazareth, Bartholomew's honest scepticism, can anything good come from Nazareth, was immediately dispelled when Christ revealed that He had seen him under the fig tree before Philip called him, causing Bartholomew to exclaim Rabbi, you are the Son of God, you are the King of Israel. After Pentecost he preached the Gospel in India, Armenia, Arabia and Ethiopia. He is particularly venerated as the Apostle of Armenia and is considered co-founder of the Armenian Apostolic Church together with Saint Thaddeus. He was martyred in Albanopolis in Armenia, flayed alive and then beheaded or crucified, for his fearless preaching of the Gospel. His feast day is celebrated in June and September.
