Holy Royal Martyrs Family Orthodox Christian Black Coffee Mug

The Holy Royal Passion-bearers, the Imperial Family of Russia, are venerated in the Russian Orthodox Church and throughout the Orthodox world as a family of saints who bore their suffering and death with extraordinary Christian faith, forgiveness and peace. Tsar Nicholas II, Empress Alexandra Feodorovna and their five children, the Tsarevich Alexei and the Grand Duchesses Olga, Tatiana, Maria and Anastasia, were arrested following the Russian Revolution of 1917 and held under increasingly harsh conditions of house arrest before being transferred to Yekaterinburg. On the night of 16th to July 1918 they were led to the basement of the Ipatiev House together with their faithful servants and shot by the Bolsheviks. Witnesses reported that they bore the final moments with prayer, dignity and forgiveness. The family had prepared themselves spiritually during their captivity through prayer, Bible reading and the Divine Liturgy when it was permitted. They were glorified as passion-bearers by the Russian Orthodox Church in 2000 and their feast day is celebrated in July, the anniversary of their martyrdom. Their example of family love, faith and forgiveness has inspired millions of Orthodox Christians throughout the world.
