Every icon starts as raw birch, cut and shaped by hand before the image ever touches the wood. The design itself is drawn from Orthodox Church tradition, then brought to life by our craftsmen and parishioners in the workshop. Not stamped out, made. Once the icon is finished, we seal it with a Museum Wax layer for depth and protection, then set it into its frame ourselves before it's wrapped and sent on its way to you.

Long before the eleventh-century schism between East and West, the lands of Scotland were home to a vigorous and distinctly ascetic Christianity, carried north from Ireland by monastic founders such as Columba of Iona and continued by native saints, bishops, and hermits across the centuries that followed. The Synaxis of All Saints of Scotland gathers this shared inheritance into a single commemoration, honouring the founders of monasteries on remote islands, the missionary bishops who brought the Gospel to the Picts and the Scots, and the many faithful whose names are remembered only locally or not at all. Orthodox Christians of these islands, and of the diaspora who trace their spiritual ancestry to them, venerate this company as evidence that the Orthodox faith is not foreign to Britain but was once its own, planted deep in its soil long before later divisions arose.
