He became Bishop of Trimythous in Cyprus and attended the First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea in 325 AD where he confounded the pagan philosopher Eulogius with a demonstration of the doctrine of the Holy Trinity using a brick, from which fire, water and clay emerged simultaneously. His relics were translated to Corfu in 1456 where they have remained incorrupt to this day, preserved by God as a sign of his sanctity and as a source of countless miracles. The Corfiots carry his relics in solemn procession four times a year.
