He was renowned for his complete sleeplessness, spending his nights in prayer before the icons, for his practice of visiting the sick in hospitals at all hours, and for his humble, almost dishevelled appearance that concealed the greatest holiness. He guided thousands of Russian refugees to safety and freedom. He reposed in July 1966 in Seattle and his incorrupt relics rest in San Francisco.
