The Synaxis of All Saints of Mount Athos, kept on the Sunday nearest to the second of September, gathers together the memory of these many hundreds of monastics, some individually glorified and known by name, many more known only to God, who together bear witness to Athos as a living school of prayer and repentance continuously inhabited since the Byzantine era.
